Welcoming Your New Maid: A Successful Start

From long experience, here are some tips many families have found useful to get the best out of their maid:

 šŸ‘‹ Your maidā€™s arrival
When she arrives at your home, your maid is shy, a little worried, but very hopeful. To put her at ease, please consider asking her about her family, interests, and hobbies. Please give her a warm welcome and introduce her to all family members, one by one.

ā›” Set the rules
Explain to your maid what you like and dislike, and what things you have zero tolerance for.

šŸ  Take her on a house tour
Itā€™ll help her settle in and make her feel more at home. During the tour, tell her where things are placed and show her how your electrical appliances work.

šŸ“” Train her slowly, and give her one instruction at a time
Donā€™t give her too many instructions on the same day, and clearly explain your preferences on how to carry out tasks and duties. Keep in mind that repetition is the best way to teach the maid, and writing instructions down for her may be beneficial.

Please consider her needs. To get the best performance, make sure to give her enough:

šŸ— Food
Your maid would really appreciate it if you would give her protein, plants, fruits, and rice to cook her food.

šŸ„± Breaks
Give your maid separate breaks throughout the day at your convenience, for her to have the time to rest, use her phone, and prepare her food.

šŸ˜“ Sleeping Hours
Please schedule your maidā€™s day in a way that allows her to finish her work before 10 pm, and to get at least 9 hours of continuous night rest. This will help energize your maid for the next day.

šŸŒ“ Day Off
She should have 1 day off per week. Please let her know what time youā€™d like her to return. If you want her to work on her off day, and if she approves, she should be compensated for it.

šŸ“± Wifi
Give your maid access to WiFi that reaches her sleeping area.

šŸ§“ Toiletries
Please make sure she always has the needed toiletries such as shampoo, soap, toothbrush & toothpaste.

These straightforward steps can help you and your new maid start off on the right foot. With a little kindness and understanding, you’ll both be set for success!
